Cheri Randolph
Julia, I like your framing and point of view for this iconic sculptural interpretation of the famous movie scene. The little girl's comment is a commentary on what we have done to the self-image of young girls today with the focus by designers on emaciated models. Interesting that it occurred in conjunction with viewing this sculpture. voted
Julia Wilcox replied:
Thanks Cheri! It can be a difficult sculpture to photograph since there is usually a gaggle of tourists (mostly boys) posed under her dress looking up. Yes, it was sad to hear that little girl's comment, but not surprising.

Julia, I love your statue of Marilyn.... such a well known scene from a movie (can't remember which). Fav.
Julia Wilcox replied:
Thanks again Kaye. This was her famous pose from the movie "The Seven Year Itch". Side note - when I was taking this picture a little girl walked by and commented to her mother that Marilyn Monroe had "fat thighs". I just about fell over! I think she looks perfect.
